Fun Things Friday

Sorry this is a little late today, I usually get this ready Thursday night but from my sons basketball game to my daughter piano lessons to another daughter not wanting to go to bed and fighting with me on that pretty much the whole night yesterday.  I've been busy.  I did want to share with you the fun things I found to do with kids.  So with out further ado.....
First thing I found were these tasty-looking breakfast treats.
I thought these would be good for not only busy moms, but for those picky eaters in the family.  I know my daughters would LOVE to help with these too.  Also these would make the perfect breakfast with General Conference being this weekend.
Here is the recipe;
Busy Mom Puffins (Pancake Muffins) Preheat oven to 350, mix 1 c pancake mix, 2/3 c water, 1/2 c syrup. Mix together, pour in greased muffin pan. Top with banana, blueberries, chocolate chips, pecans, sausage, bacon....etc. Bake for 12-14 minutes and serve. Easy, fast, delicious & no syrupy mess!!

Next, is this little beauty.                                 You can find it here.
This would be fun to make with my girls.

Lastly, check this out...                                           Go here

My oldest girl has been asking me to show her how to make a doll for a while now.  Maybe during the summer time when it's too hot to go outside.

Well, I hope you like my "Fun Things Friday" edition  today.  Have a great weekend!  See ya next week!

71 toes...Needs your help

71 toes is an inspiring blog with an inspiring young family.  I've been following it for a couple of years now.
The youngest of their family is a special little girl named Lucy.  She was diagnosed with BBS (Bardet Bietl) as a baby.  Her family is asking for your support if you are able to give of your time or donations (big or small).  Go here to read more about it.  Thank you!

Fun things Friday

This is a little something I'm gonna try to do every Friday.  I'm going to post some fun things that I've found to do with kids.  Mostly crafts, because I don't know about your kids, but my kids (esp. my girls) LOVE to do crafts with me.
With that said, let's get started....
I found this really cool idea on Skip to my Lou.  Food painting!  My girls love to paint, but they don't get to that often because it makes quite a mess and they always ask to do it when it is inconvenient.  Well, imagine the look on their faces when they come home from school today and I have everything set up to paint their after school snacks.  Fun!

Then, check these little darlings out!  Aren't they the cutest hair clips you've ever seen?!  I found these at Zulily.com.  It's an online store that sells different distributors things.  This particular shop is called Pouty Posh.   When I saw these, however, I thought that these would be fun to try and make with my girls.  They like to design their own hair things and sometimes they create some pretty awesome things.

Then here's this....A Doll Sleeping Bag from Polkadot Chair!  My daughter, Elsa has been asking me to teach her how to make clothes and accessories for her doll.  Now, with my sewing machine "back in business", I can start her little classes.  First item on the list.....a doll sleeping bag!
Then finally, something for the boys in the house.  I thought this would be a fun project to do with them!
I found this and the doll sleeping bag while browsing pinterest.  (I love pinterest.)  You can go here to read all about the plaque!

Well, I hoped you enjoyed your time here.  Have a fun-filled weekend and come back soon!

So talented!

No, I'm not talking about me.  I'm talking about my super talented sister, Hannah for Lily and Thistle.   She has been creating and selling paper dolls for a couple of years and she is working on a project right now.  It's a coloring book for her paper dolls.  My girls are going to LOVE it as I know yours will too.  If you have little girls in your life or even if you don't check this out.  My brother, Micah Anderson and his wife are also way talented, they put the little video, introducing her project, together.  So go here to check it out!

O.k. so now onto what I wanted to show you today.
Lately, my girls have not wanted me to do fun things to their hair.  They just want me to leave it down and put a bow or other hair clippy in it.  Boring! It's only on rare occasions that they want me to do more.  Usually it's my youngest, Abby who wants a 'cute hairstyle' and that's after we watched a video of how to do certain one's.  Well, I say, whatever works.  I love to do their hair in fun and different ways whether I'm copying someone else or whether I am making it up as I go.  This day was a great day because Abby wanted me to do a heart hairstyle that we saw from CuteGirlsHairstyles. I jumped at the chance!  This is what I came up with.

She added the head band and I think it's a very cute accessory.  Don't you?
That's one happy girl!

Abby's new bed

It's been a while since I have updated my craft blog and I have so much to show and tell you about!  So many projects that I have done and OH, SO many that I am still working on.  Today I want to finally tell you about Abby's new bed.  It has been done for a couple of months now, but just got pictures of it and got a mattress to fit.  Abby's pretty excited!

So, if you haven't noticed yet, I have a to-do list on the side of my blog.  With all sorts of projects,  I also have projects in mind that I have not even put on that list yet.  Well, I was able to check off another one of those projects and it feels good.  I wanted to build loft beds for all of our kids, because their rooms are just not that big and a bed just gets in the way of play.  Know what I mean.  Well, I saw some plans on Ana-White.com for a loft bed and showed the plans to my husband because he is more handy with the power tools, saws, drills, etc than I am.  He is just good at wood working and he loves it.  We make a great team because I think of the project, he figures out how to do it then builds it.  Then I do the sanding and paint/stain .  Well, when I showed him the plans for the loft bed, he looked at them and changed some things to make it little more sturdy and strong.  Let me tell you that bed will probably last right through a natural disaster.  It is pretty sturdy.  I got up there a couple of times and it didn't even move.  We made it so it will be easy to take apart and put back together.  Just in case we have to move or anything.
All we need to do now is make a ladder, which we're not in too much of a hurry because it cuts down on her getting out of bed when she needs to go to sleep.  (Although she is pretty good at getting up and down without it.)    Oh well, someday soon we will make it, then Elsa's bed is next.
This is my favorite part.  I put a shelf up there for her, so she can read/play her leapster while in bed, then when she is tired she can just put them back on her shelf and go to sleep.
But this is her favorite part!  All her toys under her bed and plenty of space to play with them.  She's got her dress up carousel (which my husband and I made), her dolls, cash register, barbie's, doll clothes/accessories, etc.  She loves it!

Thanks for stopping by!
Come again soon!
